Don't let your sub or follower count go to your big swollen head.

Now I said on twitter just yesterday that I would write
a blog post about this so here goes! Now if you get
offended by this post then I guess this means you!

This is not my first blog. I had a blog called The
GrabBag about a year ago and a few Youtube pages.
I had a few problems with my old computer so I gave
up on them. Anyway some of the people I ran across
during that time let me down as I'm sure they did others.

Once they reached 1000 or more followers, friends, or
subscribers it went to their swollen heads! Why do people
do this? And don't give me that crap about being to busy, or
I didn't see it, blah, blah, blah. Please they have time to blog
with, tweet with etc people who have the same or more followers
as they do. So don't give us that. I just  feel that is so dumb. Why
act that way when at one time you were just starting out as well.
You are not a celebrity so get over yourselves! It's just the internet.

Am I the only one seeing  this?

Just thought I'd get that off my chest!

  4. I like what I read on one of the blogs I read. She took off the blog following option because it was making her crazy if the number went up or down. I know I appreciate knowing someone is reading what I write but I have to trust that many are reading who will never post a comment. I mean, I know I don't comment on every blog I read, and I read a lot of blogs. Thanks for venting.

  5. You know it's all just relative anyway. Some people value subscribers, some twitter followers, facebook fans, etc. I do know what you mean though b/c I've emailed other bloggers in my niche and they haven't even bothered to respond. It's a personality thing--some people take blogging and themselves too seriously. I found your blog on Spotlight Saturday!

  10. Oops my friend was still signed in so I had to delete that post above and change it to me :)

    Tanya,

Thank you so much for the visit to my blog through UBP11.

I feel the same way as you, I didn't have my followers gadget activated because it didn't really occur to me that it would matter. I am just happy that I have somewhere for my family to come see our lives and to share any projects I am working on!

okay I am off to explore your site!

    Heather :)

  11. I think this is something that a lot of people face. I love the people that follow me. My blog is so small as I am still new but I love reading and connecting with everyone. I don't think I will be one of those people because I am still amazed that anyone wants to read what I write so I am grateful for that. Thanks for stopping by and visiting me!!

  12. I appreciate every one of my followers...and make my best efforts to get around to return the follow or comment every week.
I am a single mother of three...working full time and trying to hold life together for three kids traumatized by their dad's abusive behavior....
I believe in blogging without obligation...so if I don't have time to post...I don't...sometimes priorities have to take over ...
I am a new follower...just to say that...and I am here because I saw that you left me a comment...and I do feel bad that it took so long to return the favor...but being a good mother sometimes makes me a bad blogger I guess!
    have a great weekend!

  13. Hi following you back :) I'm so new to the blogging world that I can't understand how this could happen. I mean since joining UBP 2011 my tiny little blog grew to 32 followers and each time that I read a comment I feel so grateful and happy that someone took the time to write to me. I want to make my blog better and more interesting and fun but above all I want to connect with people. I'm loving this experience. Thank you for following me :)

  15. Thanks for visiting us and following - right back at ya! I had a smile at this post because the 'follower' aspect of blogging is one I have struggled with in the past - I'm new to Twitter and just figuring that all out - I'll see if I can find you on there too
